Intentional Communities Forum
Living the Dreams, Dealing with the Nightmares

Saturday 17th May
9.30am-5pm
(Registrations 9-9.30am)

At Djanbung Gardens Permaculture Center,
74 Cecil St, Nimbin

This forum is part of the Aquarius 30th Anniversary Celebrations, an appropriate time to embark on a journey of reflection and evaluation of where we've come to and where we are heading an opportunity to share our cumulative experiences in community living spanning 3 decades (one generation) and envision the future.

Through facilitated process, open forum and discussion groups we will identify our successes and the issues that have been successfully resolved (and how) as well as the challenges and changing needs that require solutions and creative resolution.

Key areas of concern may include:
… Land tenure and entry/exit procedures
… Decision making processes
… Management of community land and resources
… By-laws and agreements
… Dealing with conflict and difficult personalities
… Inter-generational equity when our children become adults
… Aging populations and providing for our aged
… Enterprise, economic and right livelihood challenges
… Levels of self reliance
… Social and health issues
… Community glue

Participants will set the agenda in terms of which issues they need to explore.

Unique facilitation processes will provide an interactive framework for participatory exploration and analyse of themes and issues. These processes have been developed over many years of community facilitation and consultation by leading permaculturists including Robina McCurdy, Peter Cuming, Declan Kennedy, Robin Clayfield and Robyn Francis

Robyn Francis will be leading the facilitation drawing on 25 years of involvement with intentional communities, ecovillages and co-housing, and group process.
